Tennessee Gas Prices Down .03 This Middle Part Of June

TAMPA, Fla. (June 17, 2018) — Motorists are getting some welcome relief from high prices at the pump. The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is averaged $2.90 on Sunday, after declining 7 cents since Memorial Day weekend.

Average Summer Gas Prices
2014 2015 2016 2017 Today
National $3.57 $2.71 $2.23 $2.31 $2.90
Florida $3.50 $2.58 $2.19 $2.25 $2.76
Georgia $3.48 $2.57 $2.11 $2.18 $2.84
Tennessee $3.35 $2.45 $2.03 $2.08 $2.65
"Pump prices should sink even lower this week, after wholesale gasoline prices took a dive," said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA - The Auto Club Group. "There is now firm downward pressure on the oil market as it appears increasingly likely that OPEC will agree to ease production cuts. As a result, gas prices are poised for another 5-10 cent drop."

Gas prices in Tennessee declined 3 cents last week. Prices at the pump averaged $2.65 per gallon on Sunday. Since peaking at $2.73 on Memorial Day weekend, prices have declined a total of 8 cents.
