Clarksville Unveils New Statute Of Legendary Coach The Late Pat Summitt

For those whose life she touched, they celebrate Pat Summitt everyday and Thursday would certainly have been a good day.

The legendary coach would have been 66 years old, born June 14th, 1952. Many gathered to celebrate and honor the late, great coach on Friday.

In Summitt's hometown of Clarksville, Tennessee, the city unveiled a statue of Summitt and dedicate a plaza in her name. Former Lady Vol and Webb School girls basketball head coach Shelley Sexton Collier was the keynote speaker at Friday's event.

She says any chance to honor her role model is one she takes seriously: "...We think something about her everyday, whether it be a story or her look or the way she inspired us on a daily basis. For me, it's an honor to be able to be a part of this event to represent the Lady Vols to put into words what Pat has meant to all of us and still does."

Our Lauren Cash and Amanda Ferguson were live from Clarksville's Liberty Park and throughout the day.
