Police said it happened along South Beaman Street at around 10:54 a.m. Monday.

A witness told police the shooter was riding in an older model gold sedan.

Investigators said the two men were taken to UT Medical Center for treatment of what appeared to be not life-threatening injuries. The victims were identified as 36-year-old Abraham Dudley and 37-year-old Billy Williams, both of Knoxville.

The investigation was underway as of Monday afternoon.
