East Tn Man Charged With Biting Ex-Girlfriend, Punching Her In Face

An East Tennessee woman claimed she tried to jump out of a window to save her herself from being beaten by her ex-boyfriend in a moving vehicle Friday.

Police reports showed William Jordan bit his ex-girlfriend in her face, punched her in her face and hit her in her legs and arms inside the car.

When the couple arrived at the Walmart on Chapman Highway, the woman allegedly tried to escape the abuse by jumping out of the car but failed. She told police Jordan pulled her back inside, choked her and held her against her will, while her legs were still hanging out of the window.

Court documents showed a witness at the Walmart called the police after seeing the woman's legs hanging out of the car and watching her attempt to get away.

Knoxville police said the victim's injuries were consistent with the assault she reported to them.

The altercation, according to investigators, stemmed from an argument the couple had inside their home in the 1600 block of Dora Street.

Officials said Jordan was taken to jail for domestic assault and kidnapping.
